Oklahoma Film + Music Office Announces City of Glenpool as a Film Friendly Certified Community

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in partnership with the City of Glenpool, proudly announces that Glenpool has achieved film friendly certification after completing the requirements of OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.

“Glenpool is proud to become an Oklahoma Film Friendly Community,” said Glenpool City Manager David Tillotson. “We look forward to welcoming film and television productions, sharing what makes our city unique, and creating new opportunities for local businesses and residents. This certification is another way for us to promote Glenpool and support economic growth.”

Located just south of Tulsa, Glenpool offers filmmakers convenient access to the resources, workforce and amenities of the Tulsa metropolitan area while maintaining a distinct community identity of its own. The city’s locations reflect that range, from the Oklahoma institution Frankoma Pottery, with its distinctive working pottery operation and Oklahoma heritage, to the modern Glenpool Conference Center, which offers flexible indoor and outdoor spaces for gatherings and events. Local businesses and restaurants, such as Mamadou’s Restaurant, further add to the city’s character while providing opportunities for productions to engage with and support the local business community. The city’s location along U.S. Route 75 also provides convenient access to Tulsa and surrounding communities, making Glenpool a practical base for productions filming throughout the region.

“Glenpool’s location within the Tulsa metropolitan area, combined with its unique community character and willingness to support production, makes it a valuable addition to Oklahoma’s growing network of film friendly communities,” said OF+MO Director Jeanette Stanton. “This certification gives filmmakers another community to consider when looking for distinctive locations and local resources, while creating opportunities for Glenpool businesses and residents to benefit from Oklahoma’s expanding film and television industry.”

With its official film friendly designation, Glenpool is the 45th community to receive this distinction after completing the requirements of the program and is further positioned to welcome productions of various sizes and connect filmmakers with local resources while taking advantage of Oklahoma’s competitive film incentives.
