Hamnet, Demon Hunters shine at Golden Globe Awards
Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the ceremony saw Hamnet claim the prize for best drama film, while K-pop Demon Hunters was honored as best animated movie. Director Paul Thomas Anderson received the best director award for One Battle After Another, which also secured the trophy for best musical or comedy film.
Beyond the awards, political statements were visible throughout the event. A number of attendees wore black and white pins reading “ICE OUT” or “BE GOOD,” part of a campaign promoted by civil rights advocates. The symbols referenced recent controversies involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, including the fatal shooting of Renee Good, a 37 year old woman in Minneapolis earlier this month.
Celebrities such as Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes, and Jean Smart were among those spotted wearing the pins, underscoring the mix of entertainment and activism that marked this year’s ceremony.
